House Nightmare (Friday 18 October 2002)
With Rob on holiday, Andy and Jon decided that a couple of things in the lease needed clarifying before it was signed, including the fact that one or two guests might be coming to stay. Unfortunately the landlady had other ideas, and the rental of the Palace of Righteous Justice is now looking unlikely.
Jon has spoken to the landlady but she's adamant that the house is being let for 3 people, and no more. Although nothing has been said explicitly, it sounds as though last year's tenants invited everyone they met back to the house, and the landlady walked in to find people sleeping on every available surface. Now she seems intent on prohibiting overnight guests completely.
At the moment, the Riders are in unsure how to proceed: the landlady now sounds uncomfortable about letting them stay, so they may have no choice but to find alternative accomodation. If they are still offered the house then should they agree to a season with no guests? Or should they look elsewhere? Watch this space.
